After a number of months of promising changers to the site we are happy to finally announce that all the work we have been working since Christmas is now online.
MarineDex is now a true global system with the introduction of global maps which including detailed maps for the USA, Asia, South America, Asia, Caribbean Australia and New Zealand. The homepage also hosts a more nautical feel to the site giving users a greater understanding of MarineDex website is straight away. We have also now separated the URL or web addresses so that you can jump directly to a region, country, city or category. With this now implemented the site now boasts more than 1000 internal pages making it the largest online marine directory to date.
Changers to the town pages include a complete redesigned and rethink of the system after we found registration and navigation slow and confusing. We have now done away with subheads and to include 16 headings to separate the now nearly 400 categories in the system. To further help with navigation we have also included tool tips to help users and businesses understand what services and supplies can be found under each heading and category in the system.
We have updated the both the user registration form and the business referral forms on the dashboards. This will help new users register quicker and easier as well as refer businesses and friends faster without the issues of the past.
Even though we are not a news site we want to help businesses and users keep up to date on what is going on in the industry. So we have now included design changes to the News & Press section to allow us to create headings and subheadings so that we can upload more news and press in a number of areas of the industry.
We have now full tested the advertising system thanks to the help of a number of willing businesses in the industry. We have also upgraded the powerfully CMS control management system that the MarineDex website is built on we can now add and see which countries, cities and categories are most important you. We can then use this information to ensure that there are enough businesses in that area who supply those products or services. So as the system grows we will be able to cater the industries every need.
We hope to continue to work and build on the success of MarineDex please feel free to contact us with your idea or if you would like to become a part of this amazing project.
Safe sailing from the MarineDex support team.
